Work / Alcohol Sales
As customer demand grew for florists to include alcohol in local deliveries, our e-commerce and POS systems simply weren’t built for it. We had one month to design and launch a compliant solution before Valentine’s Day, our busiest sales period of the year.
I started by researching state and city regulations for alcohol delivery and studying how competitors handled age verification and disclosures. The challenge was to make the experience legally compliant without disrupting checkout flow or hurting conversion. Working in Figma, I iterated on designs that balanced simplicity and compliance, testing variations of prompts and input patterns to keep friction low.
The final design added age warnings across the product page, add-on flow, and checkout, along with an “I agree I am of age” confirmation and delivery signature capture. The feature launched a week early and maintained conversion rates while driving incremental revenue for florists who added alcohol to their offerings. It’s one of those projects where tight timing, legal nuance, and design restraint came together cleanly.
