For years all of our consumer email campaigns were hand-coded. This allowed a great deal of flexibility, but only allowed a small number of people to build emails. I was tasked with building multiple Mailchimp email templates to address that.

Using Mailchimp’s template language I built a series of templates that allowed maximum use across mailings by using hide and show sections, fully editable images and text, and dropdown select boxes of variations on the same elements.
Challenges
After years of hand-coding, a lot of very customized single-use elements were created. Those elements had to be represented in the templates.
